When Joyce McGeehan was looking for inspiration to start her own business, she looked no further than her own family and surroundings. “I’m a teacher and I’m around kids, so my first instinct went to teens,” began McGeehan. “I also have a nephew who is into skateboarding and the idea coalesced there.”

For the times that McGeehan isn’t handing out assignments, she’s the proprietor of http://www.SuperSkateboardsPlus.com, a brand new site that specializes in skate decks, wheels and a special new skateboard design called a Flowboard.

Boasting an impressive 14-wheel design, the Flowboard is a fun and stylized deck that puts emphasis on the finesse of riding.

“When I started forming the store, I was drawn to a type of board that was different and the Flowboard piqued my curiosity,” said McGeehan.

The Flowboard isn’t the only product on the site. Super Skateboards Plus also has a wide selection of standard skateboards and snowskates, a pair of mini-skis that are connected to a skateboard.

Though the site is still relatively new, McGeehan already has been making plans for expansion. “We’re looking into expanding our regular skateboards and eventually we want to add surfboards and protective equipment,” said McGeehan. “We have a good start and we’re going to make sure that we have an inventory that is continuously updated.”

The blog has product reviews, gift tips and factual information about all things related to skateboarding and flowboarding.

At the core of her business, McGeehan just wants to be able to provide quality skateboards and a low price for teens and their parents.
