Question by : any comments about 2006 yamaha sr 210 or about how it pulls skiers and wakeboarders?
We are looking at one of these and were just wondering if there are any issues or if you think that its a great boat. The only thing that we are concerned about is its ability to pull tubes, skiers, wake boarders ect……. Thanks!

if wakeboards and skis are really your main use for a boat, you want a inboard (prop driven) ski boat.
sanger is one the best brands there are when it comes to quality workmanship. sanger also uses mercruiser motors and drive systems, number #1 on the water for a good reason.
you also will want a vessel with a FACTORY INSTALLED ski tower. factory installed because the boat needs reinforced where it mounts or it rips loose.
ski towers pull skiiers and wakeboarders UP, not just forward. makes it much easier to get up to begin with, and helps to catch air off the wake too.
there is also the question of the drive setup, V drive or direct.
direct is more mechanic friendly, and has no v drive to purchase or maintain.
but the v drive has more weight in the very rear and tends to make bigger wake, something wakeboarders care very much about.
but ballast tanks can help either model to put out more wake.
if skiiing and wakeboarding is your main goal, a purpose built ski boat is the best you could get.
if you plan on doing a little of everything, sterndrive or inboard/outboard is the best multi purpose design, skiiing, fishing, or just cruising around and hanging out.
many sterndrive boats also come with ski towers factory installed.
BTW, tubes, almost anything can pull a tube. you can pull one behind a canoe if you wanted too, it just needs to be able to get about 20 mph and agile enough to whip the tube back and forth to be any fun.
